Hi Reese, Alcatel is a french company. I have checked with one source who confirmed the fact that Alcatel has an ADSL/DMT chipset. Apparently they showed it at some telecom event a while ago. Anyhow, we know it's DMT, but we would like to get some details on it (is it the ANSI version, speed etc.). So, if you get a response please post it. Thanks. In terms of royalty, I asked this specifically from Ascend. The answer was they themselves wouldn't pay any. However, since Alcatel is the one making the chipset (just like MOT), I would think Alcatel should be the one paying Amati if they are using the patented version.
