Trying to construct my daughter's UTMA that through Gorilla Game investing necessitated being in placed in trust. Began with mutual funds and buying fund du jour and learning about stock investing through Stephen Leeb Personal Finance, began buying stocks. Went on to read Motley Fool Investment Guide and the Gorilla Game which begot the following portfolio

Microsoft purchase 01/04/95 $6000 now a 12 bagger
Intel purchase 01/03/96 $5886 now 3 1/2 bagger
CSCO purchase 02/10/97 $6500
09/01/98 $3106 now 4 bagger plus total
Lucent spin off 03/02/98 $1600
purchase 09/01/98 $2735 now 3 1/2 bagger
QCOM purchase 03/??/99 $15500
purchase 04/29/99 $25361
purchase 07/21/99 $7954 now 2 1/2 bagger

Bought and sold various mutual funds Benham Growth and Income, Leeb Personal Finance Fund, Motorola, American Power Conversion, Trizec Hahn, ATT (source of Lucent) Tel Mex, CUBE for small losses and little profit.

Knew I wanted buy and hold stocks because of taxes. Picked ATT, Motorola, Intel and MSFT for that reason prior to knowing GG. Did not understand telecom at that time, obviously.

Thanks to Gorilla Game my 10 year old has more $$ now than I did at 30 years of age. I guess she will be my retirement plan.

Wanted to share quasi-Lindyian experience with thread. Take home points buy and hold does work. Gorilla Game helps guide you on what is preferable in confusing hi-tech world. If you like a stock like the Q jump on it any don't just wade in. No need to fiddle with this portfolio for foreseeable future with the exception of adding to positions.

Thanks for letting me share this success. I hope spilling this out was neither boring, unclear, or uncooth

Voop

PS Fixed font gave wide screen text and seemed worse than table jumbling together
