New house was built in 1979, so it's not all that old. Didn't get what I call hardwood floors, there's hardwood parquet in the living room and dining room, but I think it's just the parquet "tiles", 1 ft. square, but EZ install with glue. Hardwood strip that you nail is what I call hardwood.
The slope is a major irritation, and it's been very neglected, maybe that's why it's so irritating. The next-door neighbor on the south has a storm drain in his yard, and all the rainwater runoff for seveal houses to the north goes through our yard on its way to his. This could be ameliorated with landscaping, and with the absorption of water that a well-maintained lawn has, but it hasn't been ameliorated yet. So that's our challenge, and then there's the fact that we want to 1. plant fruit trees 2. plant nut trees; 3. build a fence; 4. build a deck; 5. put in a vegetable garden; and so forth and so forth, and you can see it's a challenge. |
