Promise Keepers is big in the South and Mid-West, I think. They have toned down the official position on women, because it was so controversial, but they used to be quite open about saying that wives should "submit" to their husbands, because the Bible tells us so, and that wives shouldn't work outside the home if they have children. It's a fundamentalist organization aimed at getting men to be more responsible, I will say that my own husband is very responsible, and so are most of the men I meet on a regular basis, so I am unsure as to the necessity or value of the organization, but that's neither here nor there.
