I think an objective look would find that they are very much in the picture. Well then please, help me to understand. Paint me the picture. Break out the M$ enterprise server number and the 1 year market share growth line. Please point me to Windows startups. Please point me to all of the corporate decision makers and IT professionals who bought into Gate's "better Unix" promise years ago and would go the same direction in retrospect. Please though first, read the linked Tim O'Reilly opinion piece that I posted previously (XML.COM). It's kind of critical to appreciate that in 1999, "commodity" refers to software. -JCJ
