Just scanning SI tonight looking for trading ideas for the coming week and saw this thread ranked #1 in the Hot Subjects for today. Being a Christian, I thought maybe Jesus had come and forgot to get me <GGG>, so I decided to read what I thought would be edifying posts from fellow Christians within SI. Well, needless to say I am very disappointed with the childish level of discussion. I thought the thread was supposed to be about Jesus. If I was a nonbeliever and came to this thread hoping to find something out about Christianity and what Christians believed in, I would surmise that they believed in arguing about anything and everything. It would just confirm my unjustified basis for remaining an unbeliever. Listen, IF you are a Christian, Jesus prayed for us in John 17:21-22 "that they ALL may be one; as you Father, are in me, and I in you, that they(us Christians) may be one in us; that the world(unbelievers) may believe that you have sent me. And the glory which you gave me have I given them; that they may be one, even as we are one.." Also the apostle Paul eloquently relayed in 1 Cor. 12:12-13 "For as the body of Christ is one, and has many parts(members), and the the parts of that one body, being many, are one body; so also is Christ. For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body....and have all been made to partake of one Spirit." Paul goes on the teach us in this chapter that there should be "no division in the body; but that we should have the same care and love one for another." How can we as Christians, ever accomplish the work that Jesus has called us to do if we are beating up on our own body. You see, whether you believe the scriptures or not, or think there may be contradictions in the Bible, or may not agree on every "jot and tittle" doesn't change God's word to us. He has called us with a "holy calling" to make disciples of the nations and to be HIS body in the earth. It is no wonder we are weak as a body...we spend to much time arguing doctrine and not enough time feeding the hungry, visiting the sick and imprisoned, comforting those that have nobody to tell them of God's unconditional love for them, and building up each other as Christians in the faith. So, I would like to encourage each of you to utilize your gifts and knowledge of the word to edify and build up the Body of Christ; and to let the world see that Jesus is alive and well in the earth by His Holy Spirit...and that we are His arms and legs accomplishing His purpose in the earth.
PS I will not respond to any argumentative posts.
May God Richly Bless Each Of You, Emac |
