Hi Wayne, my understanding of the entire conversation is that they (ASND)will be doing the modems. They are looking at the ADSL/DMT chipset from Alcate. I would expect them to have their own backend products to be upgraded to work with this as well, but we didn't discuss that portion specifically. By the way, he did say that DSP will reduce the cost of their modems by 50%. I also asked him about wireless. His response was: our digital modem has wireless (cellular) capability, but beyond that they aren't looking at wireless. They are also going to introduce a new version of the MAX that will handle 672 simultaneous connections (the current one does only 96). The MAX product will have ATM interface by the end of the year. They also have intentions of adding Frame relay capability to the switches (getting into Cascade territory). Perhaps you can call them when you get a chance to confirm the above & get more info. I will see them again on June 19th, so if there are any unanswered questions I will deal with it at the time...
