OK. Credit the energy and innovative spirit that created those opportunities, and debit the blowing of the opportunities. A lot of those opportunities are clearer with hindsight than they were to those who faced them. And we learn. Slowly, but we learn.

Often we learn from hindsight, which is why putting an ideological blinder over hindsight is among the dumbest things anyone can do.

I do think it's high time that my own generation of Americans figured out that we are perhaps the most privileged individuals ever to walk the face of the earth, and that perhaps maybe we have an obligation or two to go with the privilege.

Sombody else go first.
