Excuse me for butting in, Michael, but I'd like to point out that there are ZILLIONS of charitable & humanitarian organizations that have no religious affiliation at all. In fact, most of them have no such affiliation. In each of these organizations, there are probably Christians of all stripes, Jews of all stripes, agnostics, atheists, Muslims, Buddhists...But the religious affiliation of the individuals composing the organization has nothing to do with the organization as a whole.

Why are you looking for an atheist charitable organization?? An atheist is not going to pick a charity to support on that basis; in fact, he probably is going to support whatever cause he thinks needs supporting, without troubling himself about the beliefs (or disbeliefs) of the other people who share his concern.
