I would not be a bit surprised to hear of GBLX also taking a swing at VRSA.

VRSA is a rapidly growing, broadband network operator focused primarily on the Benelux (Netherlands, Belgium & Luxembourg), an area with the highest population density in Europe (351/KM2). Targeted market segments are: business services (small & mid sized), high bandwidth local access, data services, and carrier services (telecom, data and Internet service providers). Through creative bandwidth agreements with GBLX, its own broadband fiber network and wireless last mile solutions, VRSA is the leading alternative to the former monopoly telcoms in the Benelux. The recent Benelux telecom deregulation has produced a pricing environment in which companies with cost structures and broadband networks such as VRSA will thrive, while others will faulter due to their legacy systems and immense overhead.

VRSA also is a logical fit when the Sunday, 10 October, 1999 announcement is taken into account.
