Saturn - <Strategically IBM is in a quandry at a critical juncture. The Merced poses as significant a threat to IBM's core business, as 386 posed in 1985/87.> Would it be fair to say that this poses a threat to IBM's Semiconductor Division, as opposed to IBM's "core business", also possibly, R/S 6000-centric business? From what Paul indicates, IBM's Server Division seems to be onboard with Merced. PB
