There is really no such thing as "standard slot 1 heat sink". About 18 months ago, Intel stopped dealing with thermal management issues as it handed it over to OEM's and distributors.

Intel only specifies the thermal requirements and it is up to the OEM's to deal with it. A system by Dell has a very different looking sink compared to a system by GTW, for example.

This latest release, as most already know, will require a fan and a sink. Nothing out of ordinary.
