Newspaper Reports Misra's Husband Filed For Bankruptcy

MINNEAPOLIS, Posted 1:29 p.m. June 27, 1998 -- A newspaper is
reporting that a Las Vegas woman who has been trying to buy the Minnesota
Vikings is a defendant in lawsuits involving real estate deals and is married to a
man who filed for bankruptcy.

The Las Vegas Sun also reports that Shruti Misra recently borrowed
$105,000 at 30 percent interest and her husband, Anil Gupta, has been
arrested on four counts of theft.

Misra is named as a defendant in multiple lawsuits in Nevada accusing her of
taking loans on properties and then selling them without paying her creditors.

But Gupta told the Sun that his wife and her family have extensive real estate
holdings and have the funds to buy the team.

Misra's latest bid for the team was $225 million. The Vikings rejected her first
bid because she wanted the right to move the team. They dismissed her
second bid because they said it was structured improperly.
