Tony, OTOT RE: The Bosox New England, in true schizophrenic form, has gone from proclaiming the hopelessness of the situation two days ago to killing all of the ghosts of the past now. (Beat the Indians and avenge the last two divisional series, beat the Yankees and kill the curse of the Bambino, and finally beat the Mets and kill Buckner's curse.) On one hand, I'm hoping this isn't another in a long tradition of Red Sox fans getting optimistic at exactly the wrong time. On the other hand, if that scenario were to truly win out, I'm going to be worried about the Apocalypse come New Year's. The one mitigating factor against that is the fact that the Cubs were horrid this year; a true Apocalypse would have the Cubs and the Red Sox in the Series.
