Dear Brian:
I am on an evangelism team in our growing church of 750 members.( growth of 70 to 750 in several years ) We have won many to the Lord over the years. I have personally witnessed to hundreds of people and won many to the Lord.
The old question of is someone lost who has never heard the gospel, is the oldest trick of the devil-and "I rebuke you satan right now in Jesus name."
Once a potential convert hears, "yes they are lost", you might as well kiss that visit goodbye. I once had a man ask me. If you can tell me right now that if I accept Christ and you can guarantee me right now that I will never ever use drugs again in my lifetime, then I will accept your Jesus right now in Jesus name.
I knew that he was not ready to accept Christ at that time and I terminated my visit. In effect he had me. He was saying he wanted his drugs more than he wanted Jesus.
If you therefore 'insist' on your 'quote' "TERRIBLE GOD" then you in effect are saying that you desire to live in the Old Testament still under the Old Law. No, God doesn't change but my Jesus is not terrible. I do not fear him. I do not tremble in His shadow. I see no club in His hand.
I run to Him when I am in trouble. I run to Him when I tremble. He is my refuge. He is my fortress when I tremble in the face of my enemies. When I mess up. When I sin. When I stupidly stumble Jesus is my refuge. No Brian. Not my Jesus. I do not fear Him. When I mess up big time. He is the first one that I think of I can run to. He is better than my lawyer. I run faster to Jesus. He is better than my closest friend. I run to Jesus. I feel safe with Jesus. His advice is never mean, or harsh, His advice is always full of wisdom. He never judges me. He is never prejudiced against my judgement. Not my Jesus. He always saves me , and rescues me, He delivers me. He shows me a way out. He never turns His back. Always greets me with a kiss. A handshake. A hug. Tells me I am still His favorite. Fear My Jesus. No. In Christ...gregor |
