Fli- There's a whole bunch of people claiming that their voice is not being heard by Tom - I get barraged with P Ms and email to this effect. Thus, they clamored to see the message I posted (This applies to both posts). Indeed, they "demanded" it.
Then, others, like yourself, think that silence would have been a better route. I understand that, Ira. One camp says I am too complacent, too timid to make "demands." The other side seeks reticence.
Can't please all of the people all of the time. Thus, I have to do what my conscience dictates. This is a crucial period of time - a peek over at the R B will give you a glimpse of why I had to make some statement.
