GV, OTOT, thanks for the update on the Sox fans. They may seem wacko, but, when you consider they've gone the longest (OK, Cubs, White Sox) without a WS championship, for a group of fans that cares the most, it's understandable. That's OK, no tears.
On Buckner, what most don't point out is that the game was already tied when he booted the ball, so they would have had to go to the next inning, being on the road, even if he fielded it cleanly. Schiraldi, Stanley and Gedman all share the shame. Buckner just got all the notoriety.
