I don't see that as "the real question" at all. The religious are perfectly free to base their actions on their beliefs, anywhere they choose. They are not free to impose their beliefs and rituals on those who do not wish to share them.

What could be simpler?

"The real question" with religious freedom arises with religions like Christianity and Islam, which instruct their members to violate the religious freedom of others as part of their own religious practice. I personally believe that the right to practice ones religion ends when it intrudes on the freedom of another.

The question of how God should be honored seems less than imperative to those who do not believe in God.
