OT: Yes rigorous protocol is critical. What I was getting at is what you mention...the formulation of hypotheses. Part of the sci method is to do background research in order to support research methods...ie grants. In my view, hypothesis formulation is a part of the sci method. If your view is that the sci method is only POST hypothesis, then ok...but that is not my perspective. Either way, we agree on the importance of solid experimentation. Couple that with a good business model and you have QCOM. It was the lack of scientific freedom shackled by prior capital investments that prevented other companies from appreciating the advantage of CDMA. On that, I know we agree, eh?! :) Rick
