Blue, nobody has ever said that Reagan wasn't president of this country at a time of tumultuous international change, and nobody ever said that actions of his, however they originated, however influenced by others they were, didn't have historical resonance.

The full judgment of what contribution Reagan's policies made during the period of Soviet collapse awaits further releases of material from the Soviet archives.

One's own judgment of Reagan would of course depend somewhat on where one sat as policies associated with his presidency touched one. I am sure that the thousands of dead Nicaraguan civilians, if they could speak from the darkness into which his policy innovations cast them, might add a plaintive chord to the current symphony of praise.

I agree with you--it was a wonderful day, when the wall fell.
