Newbridge Networks Chosen by IXnet for Global Financial
Services Extranet Expansion

Multiservice Platform Selected; Equipment Also Being Located on
IXnet's Customer Premises Around the World

Newbridge Networks (NYSE: NN; TSE: NNC) today announced that New
York-based IXnet, a leading global network services provider for
the financial community, has selected Newbridge equipment for
major components of its extranet expansion.

As part of a new series of agreements, Newbridge will provide
IXnet with additional MainStreetXpress(tm) 36170 Multiservices
Switches, a flexible, broadband multiservice platform, for all
IXnet frame relay, and content and trading systems distribution
services. In addition, utilizing the Newbridge(r) MainStreetXpress
46020 Network Manager, IXnet is able to offer fully managed
end-to-end advanced leased line and asynchronous transfer mode
(ATM) solutions worldwide to the more than 500 financial services
firms on its network.

IXnet has also selected the Newbridge 3645 MainStreet(r) Bandwidth
Manager, a high-capacity multiplexer device, as a component of
its program to deliver integrated voice and data communications to
all customer sites. The combination of this equipment allows IXnet
to deliver and manage a multitude of network functionality around
the world, 24 hours a day.
