What do you mean "a Protestant nation?" It is true, no doubt, that most states had Protestant majorities, but there must be several Catholic majority or plurality states now. I question the role of feminists in Prohibition campaigning. Methodists, certainly. KKK probably (because of its anti-Catholic stance). Also the Republic Party supported prohibition.
