There are currently no other SIMOX producers domestically. Advanced
Technology Materials (ATMI) distributes SIMOX wafers from Nippon Steel.

IBIS primary competitor has been SOITEC, a french company that produces
SIMOX wafers but is primarily pursuing bonded wafer SOI.

Other SOI producers include SiBond, a joint venture of IBM and MEMC.
They too are working on bonded wafers.

Canon has committed resources to producing SOI wafers (bonded) and will
begin sampling this summer.

IBM, of course, has purchased an implanter from IBIS but has some
restrictions on selling wafers produced from the machines.

Hitachi is the only other company that produces SIMOX implanters and has
sold two to date (Nippon Steel) and another Japanese company.

For more complete information, see IBIS 10-k.
