Thanks for the links. The descriptions remind me of the signs over the apple bins at the Chantilly Farm Market, the apples are universally described with some variation on "tart," "crisp," and "sweet." But then, how do you describe the flavor of an apple?
Now you've got me seriously thinking about apples. I think when the kids come home from school, we'll take a drive out to the Chantilly Farm Market, alas, no longer in Chantilly, now almost all the way to Leesburg. They make a big deal out of Halloween, with hayrides, pumpkin picking, pies galore, and apples, apples, apples. |
