CHECKFREE INVESTMENT SERVICES INKS PARTNERSHIP DEAL WITH BLACKBOOK SOFTWARE

LINKING CRITICAL CHECKFREE APL DATA SETS TO DYNAMIC Front-Office Application
for Enhanced Relationship Management

ATLANTA, Oct 12, 1999 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- CheckFree Investment
Services announced today it has signed a joint marketing agreement with
BlackBook Software, Inc., New York-based developers of relationship
management and billing applications for the money management community.
CheckFree Investment services along with CheckFree APL and CheckFree
APL WRAP represent the first name in outsourcing of automated
investment management, trading, portfolio performance and reporting
systems.

As part of this new arrangement, CheckFree APL's client base of money
managers will have the option to utilize BlackBook's desktop
applications to leverage their all important marketing and prospecting
efforts, increase productivity, and enhance client maintenance.
"Integrating CheckFree APL client data sets to BlackBook at the manager
or broker desktop, represents one of many avenues we will pursue to
address the informational needs of our money management client base,
and to also make CheckFree Investment Services an all- encompassing
service," said the company's Senior Vice President, James K. Waller.

"BlackBook aggregates islands of relationship information and makes it
centrally available in a Windows-based, GUI environment," said
BlackBook Software President, Jake Nadler. "As a result, investment
managers can quickly publish reports and correspondence for a wide
range of participants in the managed accounts hierarchy such as
clients, prospects, custodians and brokers." Investment professionals
will have 24 manager reports available at their fingertips, including
consultant and customer profiles, account won/loss information and
account listings by broker, custodian, consultant, etc.

BlackBook Software, which is written in Visual Basic and uses either
Microsoft SQL or Microsoft Access as a data base will complement
INFODEX, CheckFree APL's own contact management system. "It's our basic
philosophy that clients should have access to the tools that will
foster growth of assets under management," said CheckFree APL business
head and Vice President, Ms. Terry McNamera.

About BlackBook Software, Inc. BlackBook Software, Inc. develops and

the front-office paper and document distribution jams found in

to all computer tools from the basic Microsoft Front Office suite, to
