Tero, if I might take another poke at this. I'm trying to get a clearer understanding of the IPRs for W-CDMA, and whether or not there is agreement (particularly among the European wireless/handset companies) that Qualcomm will have to paid royalties on any W-CDMA equipment/handsets. It's my understanding that this is the case but it's difficult to find any company statements, press releases, or media article that actually state this.

Reading between the lines of your response to Brian, it sounds like you're saying there is general agreement among the European companies that QCOM has W-CDMA IPRs? Is this correct? Since you're saying that several other companies have W-CDMA IPRs, we can expect cross licensing agreements and reduced royalties to QCOM? Do you have a "gut feel" for what the royalties might be? I suppose it would depend on the company and the extent of cross licensing of IPRs?

Any insights here would be appreciated.

-- Thanks, Bob
