So I should get my mom a box of spare parts and Redhat 6.0 and she'll be good to go? Bingo. You got it Junior! The great thing about a real operating system is remote administration. Your mom shouldn't have to do ANY administration. My mom runs a Mac. She sticks with Netscape 3.x and Eudora 1.x because it works for her and she doesn't know how to upgrade it and doesn't want to screw it up. My mother in law isn't as technically minded. She HATES the complexity of her rather complex Micron 300+ mhz PII. She runs AOL. The machine often crashes. As soon (and I mean the same WEEK) as AOL gets ported to Linux or Solaris, M$ Crapware is coming OFF of that machine and *nix is going on. Do you really have your mom running Windows? -JCJ
