"My best guess is that MSFT may continue to trade in this range for a while longer." I agree. I am long MSFT and am bullish on this company's prospects long into the future. My opinion of this latest sideways move is that after the last split, the law of numbers has started to catch up to MSFT. A 50% growth rate three years ago was "easier" to accomplish than a 25% growth rate now, simply due to the sheer size increase (sales and shares).
