From the start of "G.lite" it has been the case that the adaptations made for it's splitterless operation were also applicable to full-rate ADSL. There are vendors (PAIR, for instance) with microfilters usable for splitterless full rate ADSL, though these are perceived more as inevitable ADSL "cross-pollination" than technical advance.

But there are apparently some technical issues with this technology (eg., emissions compliance of uncontrolled in-home wiring carrying signals above 500 kHz) that are currently unresolved in the technical community.
