Hold on to your hats folks, NAZ futures down 41.5 @ 6:30PM EST. Should be an interesting day/week. Anyone have any thoughts on the impact of tax selling right about now. It occurs to me that we are just 1 year and a few days past the Oct. 8 1998 double bottom and perhaps quite a few investors who bought back then when the the blood was running in the streets have been nervously holding onto their huge gains to get past the one year mark and the dramatic reduction in capital gains tax (40% vs. 10-20% depending on your other income). With all the inflation/overvaluation/black October noise, we could be quite a bit of selling to lock down those cap gains. Haven't heard/seen this discussed anywhere and I was wondering if anyone else had any thoughts on this. TIA Alohal
