Hello Eric,

A quick(?) comment to Matthew:

By the enhancment of the services provided on the NetWare platform ... more NetWare sales and the continuation of upgrades. People who are moving from NetWare (or buying new OS platforms) because of the desire to run SuiteSpot can now use the NetWare platform. The NOS is *not* dead. People who think this don't have the same definition of a NOS.

I agree.

It is not my position to answer this particular question (nor can I say that I have specific knowledge of the current status.) I would suggest e-mailing Glenn ... or for those of you wondering, Dr. Eric Schmidt showed up in my GroupWise address book Monday morning ...

Eric,

(Sorry for being long)

You stated:

I think it's important to understand that Eric is the CEO of Novell. The porting of SuiteSpot will be done by Novonyx. I don't know that Eric will have the ability to "sign a killer deal" because the management of Novonyx would have to do that. Likewise, I don't know that Novonyx has the ability to deal IntraNetWare to Compaq ... I believe that we (Novell) already have a "SmartStart" CD-ROM with Compaq that includes IntraNetWare. I think someone forgot to tell the world that of the 1,000,000 servers that Compaq shipped, somewhere around 750,000 are running NetWare!
