Sounds like cutting off your nose to spite your face. When you have an alliance partner, you don't wish or cheer ill will that befalls them. From trying to weigh all the tech analyses that's come into this thread, it sounds like Rambus technology is not the be-all and end-all for PC memory that it was cracked up to be. For performance, cost and difficulty to implement reasons, I'd say Rambus needs Intel one hell of a lot more than Intel needs Rambus.
