(from M$ 'hot jobs' listing) SOFTWARE DESIGN ENGINEER This SDE position is to work on a project is to convert the Hotmail service to Windows technologies. The primary responsibility of the developer position is to develop a new, compatible implementation of the existing Hotmail service, using Windows 2000 and IIS 5. The implementation must be highly tuned and scalable, and meet the demand for easy remote administration. The developer will be an individual contributor designing solutions to meet critical customer demands. Useful knowledge would include: experience in development and performance tuning using NT and IIS, knowledge of email transport mechanisms, some practical understanding of UNIX systems, and experience with scripted administrative solutions.
