Well, I just bought a Micron Millenia Max 600 Mhz PIII with 133 Mhz bus, 27 GB HD, GeForce video card, DVD, CD-RW. The build time is 21 days, they say the response has been tremendous. Bad news for Intel, Dell, and Gateway is good news for Micron. You might think about that when projecting this quarter's earnings.
What sold me was the bus speed, the two alternate CPU sockets, the 4X AGP, the six PCI slots (Dell has four), and all those drive bays. It seemed like it had more forward compatibility than any of the current Dell or Gateway offerings, and was priced just about the same. I wanted a computer that would resist obsolescence, and this looks like it. I didn't order a sound card though, I'm still puzzling about that one, and it has some onboard sound that will do for now. |
