mr.mark and all, an observation about the number of open files: Norton's allows monitoring of the number of open files. I started doing this and usually have about 200 open files after booting. After several hours on the internet, I close all open programs, but Norton still counts 300-350 open files. I guess a lot of files are opened but never closed again. Just an observation. It strengthens my conviction that turning the computer off now and then is a good thing. Gottfried
