Hope you don't mind if I butt in...

What operating system will you be using? If Windows NT or Windows2000, you may want to consider 512Mb of RAM. Some trading software sucks memory like mad. I increased memory on my system (Windows2000) from 256Mb to 512Mb, and I could see the difference.

If you decide to start with 256, ask Dell to make it 256 on one chip. That way you'll have 3 additional memory slots available in the future.
