Gifted With the Aisle Seat

I remember it all vividly. Closed eyelids enabled the comfort of darkness. The foul air pressed, as if 84 feet underwater. The luscious open space opposite the armrest. I asked for an air-sick bag, and please, oh please, open the window! . . . my souvenir would be waiting on the carousel.
