To All: While I have a few moments here, I wanted to pass along several thoughts ? you can read this now or save for later if don?t have time before the market opens. And some could care less, so they?ll just skip over.
Thx for the feedback, it?s one of the things that keeps a person going, imo. And faith in justice restored as rental car broken into this past weekend in FL and laptop, sports equip, new clothes, personal records including refund cheque, extra cash, etc all taken ? fortunately passport and plane ticket were left behind. Gains in the past few days have made up more than the loss ? out of my mind now. Anyone who has given me their #, could you do so again - that was on the laptop. Thx, much appreciated.
If I?m not on SI during (traditional) market hours, it?s b/c I?ve had to be elsewhere (note I would rather be watching the market), or the ISP connection or SI is not working. It does not mean I have sold all my position plays. I did lighten up on a few position plays this week since I?ll be away next week in California and will not be on SI, nor the internet, for at least the first 3 days next week.
On to some comments on stocks:
FVCX ? another deal, break another resistance point ? an IMCL-ish type of rise. I wish Bill_on_the_Hill could have held on for a few more days rather than selling his whole portfolio. Be interesting to see the terms of the BT deal and reference to AT&T. And like I said a week or two ago, come on upgrades.
RRRR ? yes, Mare, I did sell over half what I had. Was watching FVCX so much, wanted a clear mind, being away next week, didn?t sell on the run up the week before, car broken into ? wanted to recoup stolen items amount and hedge by taking some profit. Still good.
GBIX ? Paine Webber I think just has not looked at GBIX enough. Also, fact that they start coverage means they are interested in the stock. They started at Neutral ? great ? leaves room for them to upgrade. I imagine that since they started coverage, they may buy for some clients, thus PW has incentive to use their war-chest to knock the price down to buy at lower prices for their clients ? too bad all the little ppl don?t band together, form our own inv bank, and go against you PW. There was rumor that there may be a third offering by GBIX and maybe PW is the lead underwriter. GBIX will rocket, imo, and one to keep.
IMCL ? secondary coming out and believe I rem reading when they mentioned that it would be in the low 30?s (IMCL was around 35+ at the time of mention). Supposed to come out next week. A no-brainer gainer, imo and the higher the secondary price, the bigger the gain.
DRMD ? some times you see volm on a stock that had almost no volm ? awesome.
WGNR ? along with RRRR, I lightened up, for the reasons mentioned in RRRR. Still feel it?s good.
NOVL -- took gain last week from a few Friday?s ago.
ORTL ? took gain.
NETG / DCLK -- holding for the conversion of NETG into DCLK.
CS ? read Tim?s thread
Still haven?t had time to do any earnings / quarterly results analysis ? just super busy right now ? will cool off a bit in 2 weeks.
Picks :
A. on the wireless co info ? I asked those responding a couple of questions but no one had enough info at a first stage, so never got to the three offshoot areas. One in particular, don?t know why that area hasn?t moved.
B. on the one posted about a week ago, thx to those responding ? I watched it for another couple of days and it didn?t do much, but now has moved about $« higher. One person I saw mention it on SI. I did not pass it along as I mentioned I was still doing a bit of DD. I do not want to pass along crap or pump and dump or bulletin boards. If I mention something on SI, it?s b/c I believe in a co. The next pick I have I will pass on to those ppl who responded first, by PM.
C. I may get some answers to a few of the things in A. via a different area altogether and will be doing more research on this different area, especially as I just found out a friend of a friend is in this sector ? he was surprised I knew some of the terminology and was able to carry on a conversation. Will get to the more in-depth questions over the next week to two.
Have to stop here, got a lot to do. Outdoor activities, restaurants, etc suggestions for central Calif are welcomed.
