Diversinet Corp.: Wysdom Licenses Diversinet's Wireless Passport Software
TORONTO, CANADA--
Wysdom's server will provide security embedded in its platform for innovative wireless e-commerce services
Wysdom Inc., a leader in wireless e-commerce platform software, is licensing Diversinet Corp.'s (NASDAQ Small Cap: DVNT, CDN: DVNT) Passport(tm) security software to offer carriers, corporations and content providers end-to-end security solutions for creating wireless portals and wireless e-commerce applications.
Wysdom is incorporating Diversinet's security software into its Wireless Application Server which provides the software platform to network operators and corporations to develop wireless portals and enterprise applications. Such portals enable carriers and corporations to offer numerous value-added services that are formatted for wireless devices. Wysdom last week announced the licensing of their Wireless Application Server by Web2PCS.com Inc., which will use the technology to develop North America's first interactive WAP (Wireless Application Protocol) portal for consumers.
Wysdom's other projects include providing its Wireless Application Server for Lucent Technologies' new wireless portal, Zingo and serving as systems integrator for the project. In addition, Wysdom is working with numerous companies around the globe to deliver wireless e-commerce applications, and security is a widely cited concern in the projected explosion of e-commerce.
"With the added security that the Passport Certificate Client provides, we have greatly increased the marketability of our product," says Kashif Hassan, president of Wysdom. "Reaching target markets such as the financial sector and other areas where security is paramount is a significant advance, and opens a broad scope of potential business."
Nagy Moustafa, president and CEO of Diversinet, says, "Wysdom's wireless expertise in systems integration, servers and portals can help Diversinet reach new markets. We are especially optimistic about the worldwide development of wireless portals, for such applications as banking and financial services, which could generate additional revenues through sales of our digital certificates." |
