How big of a shareholder is it? If it really likes the company so much, maybe it would just go along with any sale as long the acquiring company is a high flying stock as well. I am assuming a deal would be all stock.

Notice how the JDS Uniphase acquisitions have been for stock. Sellers may actually want stock of a very good acquirer and not cash at all.

This preannouncement also sends off signals that Ortel has momentum in growing and that would make it a better target OR at least the stock should keep going.
Momentum is a huge factor in stock price movement. I picked some at 22 1/2 yesterday and expect to see it a lot higher a couple of months from now. We might get a short term pullback but that gives me an opportunity to complete my buy.
