Hawaiian Airlines Sept. Traffic Rose 8.1%

HONOLULU, Hawaii -- Hawaiian Airlines Inc.'s (HA) September traffic rose 8.1% to about 377.4 million revenue passenger miles from about 349.3 million a year ago.

In a press release Wednesday, Hawaiian Air said load factor, or percentage of seats filled, fell to 71.6% in September from 75.6% last year.

In the third quarter ended Sept. 30, the company's traffic rose 13.8% to 1.32 billion revenue passenger miles from 1.16 billion a year ago.

Load factor was 80.3% in the same period, compared with 80.1% last year.

In the latest nine months, the company's traffic rose 10.9% to 3.62 billion revenue passenger miles from 3.26 billion a year ago.

Load factor was 77.7% in the same period, compared with 76.8% last year.
