In an idea world there should be no lines between races, but unfortunately its not an idea world. I use to be in the steamship industry, and back in the 1970-80's very few minorities including women were employed. If minorities were employed it was really done as a token. I first got my start in the U.S.-West African trade. What the heck did I know about West Africa. I was aware that there were plenty of qualifies African-Americans applying for that job with some having experience. I had absolutely no experience, and frankly I didnt even know what a darn container was. I remember in my interview I used the word "BOAT" which is an absolute no-no. Thats like a pilot calling a jet a "thing with wings". ggggggg In retrospect I was not the best person for that job. So in line with what you were saying, I have to agree. Its just difficult discussing this issue, and thats not a critizism. seeya
