No, that's too easy.

They would do that AFTER expiration, when the October Puts expire worthless.

Look it up, all the great October declines of the last dozen years had to be after the Expiration. I know the 1997 one was the following week with the Big Drop hitting on the following Monday after that.

I'm pretty sure the '87 one came right after Expiration.

(all this is just a co-incidence, of course)
