Drugres - re: Biomoda. Biomoda's product can be used either for detection or treatment of lung cancer. When used for detection, a sputum sample is tested. Since this is non-invasive, FDA approval is not required (although, obviously, any buyer will require proof of efficacy). As you noted, Biomoda states that this technique is capable of detecting individual cancer cells, in the earliest stages of the disease, which is several years earlier than any other method.

Biomoda's technique can also be used for the treatment of lung cancer. Since this is a medical treatment, it must go through the usual FDA approval process. Biomoda plans to do this, but intends to bring the sputum test to market now, in order to get revenue coming in.
