Specifications
The Henry Goodrich is a Mitsui SES 5000 4th generation design twin
hull semi-submersible Mobile Offshore Drilling Unit built (1985) to national
authority requirements for operations in Norway, Canada, U.S. and U.K.
approved DNV + 1A1 and complies with IMO, SOLAS, and UKCS
regulatory requirements (1998). The mooring system is a 12 point all
chain spread with thruster assist (2 * 7,000 hp thrusters). The Henry
Goodrich has variable deckload capacity (operating mode) of 6,300 mT
and accommodations for 146 persons.
The unit is equipped to undertake exploration and production operations in
harsh environment areas worldwide and in water depths in the range of
65m (213 ft.) to 610m (2,000 ft.). Upgraded in 1992 for High Temperature
and High Pressure (HPHT) operations, the unit has a four ram 18-3/4 in.
15,000 psi Koomey stack and two each Shaffer 10,000 psi annular BOPs,
Varco TDS-3 top drive with Deutag soft torque system and a raised back
up handling system, total riser capacity of 1,600 kips, three each mud
pumps (FB-1600) and four each Thule VSM 100 shale shakers.

THRUSTERS AND BALLAST SYSTEM
Two Niigata Liaaen 6,904 hp azimuthing fixed pitch variable speed
thrusters with 4.2 m four-blade propellers.
Four Ballast pump rooms, one at each end of each pontoon with two
pumps in each. Valve actuators, valve position indicators, and tank level
sensing devices designed to operate in the event pump room is flooded.
RISER TENSIONERS
Sixteen tensioning units rated for 100,000 lbs. capacity each with 50 ft. of
line travel, 1-3/4 in. wire line.
