JFD, You are right about the mistake to sell Intel. It was a reaction but i don't face any tax consequences from selling. If there were tax considerations, i would not have dreamed of selling. I am probably to going to buy some back---but i decided that i would buy some Dell with some of the proceeds. I basically end up in the same market but with a company that is not sounding negative at any of those conferences. Another good one could be Apple just because of their bullishness for the coming quarter. Planning to buy if the initial gains are not too great.

The problem with Intel was that it missed 2 quarters in a row. Additionally the company's projections about gross margins for the september quarter did not turn out to be true. I am waiting for some change in sentiment towards Intel first.

On the other hand, I think MSFT should do well in the coming days----and later pick up steam after Judge Jackson's fact finding. There may be many buying opportunities as usual. A confirmation of a delay in Windows2k will cause a short term drop (a few hours!!).
