Heinz, Perhaps I am missing something, but I guess I see it the other way around. Extreme highs in VIX usually foretell a big rise in the market, and vice-versa for extreme lows. In fact every time it broke 30 it signaled the end of the sell of and a big run up came after. Also the extreme high in th VIX in mid-July came before the summer correction.. Brian
