Thanks for the tip! That is what I used to do when I was trading with a discount or full service broker but didn't realize that some firms are willing/able to do this with their electronic customers. There was no mechanism for me to call the firm to include the 'vs trade date' information when I was trading electronically as I was told that the confirmation slips were automatically generated and not able to be edited with this information manually.

May I ask what electronic broker you use, please? It really would be nice if the client could just handle this himself. Apparently, the mechanism exists to add ID information but it needs to be available directly to the client as he is trading rather than having to call after the fact. Wouldn't this be a very smart marketing tactic for any of the online brokerages? :)
