Hi Jeffrey. Tell your Mom there is NOTHING to be afraid of, she will be amazed how easy and painless it is. The whole procedure is over in a couple of hours in cluding prep and recovery time. For the first 6 hours there is a little swelling and irritation, maybe a little soreness, all handled by tylenol. Next day swelling gone, a little irritation, no pain. You have to wear a patch on your eye for a day, I went back to the Doctor this morning, he took the patch off, and I can see fine. Total Tylenol taken, was maybe 4 since the operation. The first operation, I didn't even remember the operation part. This one, I remember some of it, but there is no discomfort at all during the operation. Trust me, I've had both eyes done and there is nothing too it. You and your Mom are going to be amazed. I even removed my eye patch this morning myself, and drove myself to the Dr. Office to let him officailly remove it, but I wouldn't recommend your mom doing that, at least not on this first one. 8-) Let me know if you or your mom have any more questons. Richard
