Brightpoint and Vodafone Sign Agreements
INDIANAPOLIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 14, 1999--Brightpoint, Inc. (NASDAQ: CELL - news) announced today that its subsidiaries in Australia and New Zealand have entered into agreements with subsidiaries of Vodafone AirTouch (NYSE: VOD - news) in these markets. Under the Australian agreement, Brightpoint will assist Vodafone in managing its accessories programs for its retail channel in Australia. Brightpoint will provide services such as product packaging, sales and marketing activities, distribution and product returns management. In New Zealand, Brightpoint is supplying Vodafone with custom-packaged accessories, and is involved in the distribution of prepay recharge cards and prepay kits. The prepay kits include mobile phones and accessories, together with a prepay recharge card.
